Celebremos Cinco de Mayo! 
Join us at Gambier Community Centre, the heart of the community, for a Mexican-theme afternoon "Happy Hour" celebrating Cinco de Mayo. 

On May 4th, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tracy's Island Catering invites you to a delicious Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Immerse yourself in a culinary adventure with her specially curated tasting menu, each course paired with a handcrafted Margarita that complements the dish's essence. 

Experience the zest of Mexico with every bite and sip, and let's toast to tradition, community, and the joyous spirit of Cinco de Mayo! With only 40 tickets available, this is your chance to indulge in a unique, island-style fiesta that's as tasty as it is memorable.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Tasting Menu
Starters:

•  Margaritas de Limón (Lime Margaritas)

• Copa de Camarón Picante (Spicy Shrimp Cup): A zesty shrimp delight served in a crisp cup, complemented by spicy cocktail sauce, avocado cream drizzle, and a sprinkle of cilantro.

• Albóndigas de Res al Estilo Español (Spanish-style Spicy Beef Meatballs) - Savory Spanish-style beef meatballs with a kick of spice, ready to ignite your taste buds.

Main Course:

• Margaritas de Fresa y Jalapeño (Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas)

• Taco Callejero Vegetariano de Mango y Frijol Negro Picante (Spicy Mango Black Bean Vegetarian Street Taco) - A vegetarian feast featuring black beans, shredded cabbage, avocado slices, mango chunks, spicy mayo, cilantro, and feta cheese in a soft tortilla.

• Taco Callejero de Pollo Picante (Spicy Chicken Street Taco) is a mouthwatering combination of fresh chicken, avocado slices, pepper jack cheese, and garlic cilantro slaw wrapped in a warm tortilla.

Dessert:

• Margarita de Mango (Mango Margarita)

• Mini Pastel de Queso con Mango (Mini Mango Cheesecake): Indulge in a mini mango cheesecake topped with light coconut milk whipped cream.

• Taco Infantil (Kids Taco) - Perfectly spiced for our young friends. $5.00 each

Green Sleeve Free Advance Care Planning Workshop

The Sunshine Coast Hospice Society invites you to a free Green Sleeve Advance Care Planning Session at the Gambier Community Centre.
 
Advance Care Planning is about making choices for your future health care, ensuring your wishes are known and respected. It's a thoughtful and loving gift to your loved ones.

This session is particularly significant as we navigate the loss of some of our long-time island friends and neighbours. We approach this gathering with sensitivity and awareness, understanding the importance of these conversations, especially in times like these in our small community.

Yoga with Barb Crompton

Fridays, June 7-August 16, 2024, 10am

Come and experience deep breathing practice lying on your back and stomach, using props to enhance your “letting go” of tension and tightness.  Your restorative class is about muscles that need to be strengthen and stretched for good postures. Therefore we will focus  on strengthening the core and upper back and stretching the chest, back and hip muscles to support your spine and improve your posture. In the class your mind will slow down, reflecting on the sensations in your body and the calmness of your being. You will leave the class feeling rejuvenated, restored and revitalized.
